The night before

Vance, me and the kids were already up in Tucson to do Bubba's pre-op treatments for the big day. We left at about 6:30 am to be to the hospital by 8:30 am and we were there all morning long. Bubbs had chest X-rays, blood work and had to pee in a bag that was stuck to his you know whatee. Vance and G had to leave in the mean time to go grab a bite to eat. After all was done we headed to the Ronald Mcdonald House to get all checked in and wait for Vance's dad to fly in. The waiting was quit uneventful. There were some cat naps and errand running for things we needed. Also, some bathing to get all cleaned up for Grandpa Smith.

There were a few things I had to do with Bubbs in order for him to be ready for surgery the next day. I bathed him then had to wipe him down with these sticky disinfectant wipes and place ointment inside his nose to prevent bacteria. Basically, we didn't want him to get sick what so ever or there would be no surgery. I had to stop feeding 6 hours before surgery and could only feed him clear liguids up to 2 hours before surgery. I was worried he'd be starving but he handled it very well considering.

Finally, Vance called and said he was downstairs with his dad so I grabbed the kids and headed down to see Grandpa Smith!

We chatted for a little bit while Grandpa ate then headed up stairs to bed since we had an early morning ahead.
